Try to make sure you have used at least the 1st & 3rd not of the 1, 3, 5 of a chord as these are the notes that give it the character. You can miss notes out & add 7ths, but usually we try to keep the root & 3rd there. It would have been good to hear this. Part 2 looks awkward to play! t has many leaps in it & covers a wide pitch range!
