Week 1: In week 1 I made quiet a lot of progress and I was on the same level as most of the people in the class. I think that I was able to play the ground bass, Part 1 and Part 2 quiet well at a medium pace. I don't think I made any mistakes for the ground bass, part 1 and part 2 and I didn't feel confused at all in any of the parts in the pieces. Here is a video for you to listen to what I played!
Week 3: In this last week I was able
to play part 5 and 7 quite well and I was able to t play part 6 which was in between them and it was to hard to get it all right! I think I made a couple of mistakes playing the part 5 and 7 because I think I play it on the wrong side of the keyboard and made some of the notes I played were wrong. I think I made a lot of progress by learning almost all of the parts but not being able to play it with the ground bass in these 3 weeks. I was also on the same stage as most of the people in the class.
( All videos are there starting from ground bass, part 1 and part 2, then it goes to part 4 and part 3, then it goes to part 7,6 and 5)
Week 2: In week 2 I also made quiet I a lot of progress and I was again on the same level of most of the people in the class as I was able to play the ground bass, part 1, part 2, part 3 and part 4 now properly. I wasn't able to play the ground bass and the other parts together and I was a little bit confused about the parts when it has the same letter but it is on a different side of the keyboard. I again have videos of Part 3 and Part 4 not played together and I might have made the mistakes that I mentioned.

Week 1 - good reflection.
ReplyDeleteGround bass - the beginning was missing off your recording, what was there was well played.
Part 1 - This should have started higher up. Each note should be next door to the last note played.
Part 2 - Same as for part 1.
The rhythm is well played & the letter name of each note is correct. You just haven't always traveled in the right direction to play the note. Lower on the stave, travel to the left on the keyboard.
Part 4 - Well played at the start, but again you haven't always traveled in the right direction on the keyboard. Lower notes on the stave go to the left. Notes which rise up the stave go to the right on the keyboard.
ReplyDelete3rd video - part 4 - again letter names are correct but you have moved in the wrong direction on the keyboard.
ReplyDeleteYou identified this as an issue in week 2 & week 3 reflections... You need to act on putting it right so that you do not need to reference it in week 4 reflections.
Part 7 - pitch correct in this one. Well done.
ReplyDeleteTo improve you need to work on your timing. Remember the length of each note is directly related to each note you play. They range from 1 beat, to half a beat, to quarter beat notes. They need to be perfectly balanced.
Part 6 - You forgot about the direction of the notes on the stave related to the direction on the keyboard. You need to remember how the length of each note relates also.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very challenging part to play. You have a lot of work to do here. Break it down into smaller chunks to practice before trying to put it together again. Well done on what you have achieved Mehul, you are doing well to keep up with most of what has been asked of you.
Part 5 - don't try to play it so fast. There is no need. You can alter the speed in mixcraft if you want it to go faster. You have made some of the same mistakes in this part as in others. The letters of the notes are correct... but the pitch isn't.
ReplyDeleteYou posted part 4 twice & forgot to post part 3. When you work on improvements, remember to post the improved versions & reflect on what you did to put them right :)
ReplyDeleteYou are challenging yourself well & working hard to improve your skills. Keep at it Mehul, you are heading in the right direction.
